GAUR: Unavailability of milk processing centres has caused much inconvenience to thousands of farmers in Rautahat district.

Around 20,000 farmers keep buffaloes and cows in Gaur, Pipra, Samanpur and Katahariya. Among these places, not a single one has a milk processing centre. “Although we are into commercial milk production, we are forced to sell the milk at very low prices,” said a farmer Charichan Yadav. Milk from various parts of Rautahat is brought at the only one milk centre — Garuda Milk Processing Centre. The District Agricultural Office said their demand will be conceded.
