KATHMANDU: The fourth meeting of the working committee of the Confederation of Banks and Financial Institutions Nepal (CBFIN) has decided to take action against illegal activities of various individuals, organisations and groups against the bank and financial institutions, their assets, credit and employees.

Issuing a press release, the CBFIN has said, "Henceforth, CBFIN and all bank and financial institutions affiliated to it will take legal action against any person or organisation causing damage to the reputation, dignity, trustworthiness or property of the banks and financial institutions, create disruption in the banking business, create confusion in relation to the banks and financial institutions, the bank depositors, debtors and all stakeholders, including those who encourage non-payment of principal and interest on loans taken from financial institutions, to the extent permitted by prevailing laws."
