CF hands over homes
KATHMANDU: Chaudhary Foundation (CF) handed over ‘Transitional Homes’ for people affected by the devastating quake at Changunarayan of Bhaktapur. The foundation is building transitional homes for the people affected by the earthquake in the most affected districts under the ‘CG Shelter’ project. The 60 shelters in Changunarayan have been built under this project, as per a press statement issued on Wednesday. Earlier, the foundation had handed over 70 transitional homes to the locals at Machchegaun of Kathmandu’s Chandragiri Municipality on June 29. The press statement further says the foundation will soon hand over 76 such shelters at Burungchuli of Lalitpur district, Karyabinayak Municipality-14, and Lukundole of the same municipality’s ward number 15.
Boeing, TAS tie-up
NEW DELHI: Boeing Co and Tata Advanced Systems (TAS) have agreed to work together on manufacturing aerospace and defence equipment including unmanned aerial vehicles, the US company said on Wednesday. Boeing said in a statement that the two firms intend to sell into markets products that they have jointly developed. New Delhi is trying to encourage more firms to manufacture in India and boost skilled employment, particularly in defence. TAS, which already works with Airbus Group and Lockheed Martin, is owned by conglomerate Tata Sons.

LONDON: Britain’s unemployment rate climbed to 5.6 per cent in the quarter ending in May, with the number of jobless up for the first time in over two years, data showed on Wednesday. Unemployment edged up from 5.5 per cent in the quarter ending in February, the Office for National Statistics said in a statement. The number of unemployed rose by 15,000 to 1.85 million, the first quarterly increase since March 2013, the ONS added.
