BENI: Cheese producer farmers have been encouraged after different organisations provided help for a cheese factory at Paudur in Shikh VDC, Myagdi district.

The cheese factory was established with the initiatives of Mahabir Pun, the Ramon Magsaysay prizewinner. Khayar Barahi Dairy and Cheese Factory, the only cheese factory in Dhaulagiri zone, was established in 2058BS in Shikh VDC of Myagdi.

A meeting of an all-party mechanism of the DDC has decided to provide Rs 200,000 to factory this year. District Livestock Service Office had provided materials worth of Rs 100,000 last year.

A total number of 50 farmers have resumed the factory by rearing cows collectively. Official of the factory Buddhi Bahadur Paija said.
