Clubs pour frustration over uncertainty
Lalitpur, April 11
In a move to pressurise the All Nepal Football Association to hold the elective general assembly, the Inter-club Coordination Committee today said the clubs would not hire players and coaches from now on.
In an anti-football move, the Committee - formed with representatives of A, B and C division clubs - said contracting of players was worthless at a time when the ANFA's AGM was postponed indefinitely and that the league remained uncertain. “The future of league is uncertain due to the postponement of ANFA's elective general assembly. In this condition, it would be worthless for clubs to keep players with them,” said Thulobhai KC, coordinator of committee, at a press meet.
The clubs representatives put their frustrations saying that the clubs faced financial crisis as they were forced to contract players for the last three years without getting chance to participate in the A Division League.
The committee also informed that players and coaches as well as referees would be jobless by mid-June after the end of current contract.
It also demanded the ANFA to hold the AGM at the earliest.
