Commonwealth telecom forum to meet

New Delhi, March 27:

Key policy and decision makers and senior level industry leaders will meet in London in September to discuss the future of mobile communications in the Commonwealth grouping.

The Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation has announced that the 4th Annual CTO Forum is a developmental event focusing on “maturing the relationship between governments, regulators and the global mobile industry”.

The CTO Forum’s key focus areas will be realising the socio-economic benefits of mobile communications, policymaking to encourage competition, incorporating new technology to aid mobile development and generating the highest possible average revenue per unit or average revenue per user(ARPU).

Organisers said that with over 30 Commonwealth organisations confirming their attendance, the event is expected to attract over 200 delegates.

In the CTO Forum held at Yaounde in Cameroon last year, there were some 200-plus delegates from 27 countries, representing 67 information and communication technology (ICT) organisations.
