The Department of Industry has shifted most of its administrative and regulatory services to a fully online system, aiming to make public services faster, more transparent and more accessible.
The move follows directives from Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Gauri Kumari Yadav to digitise industrial administration and reduce the need for service seekers to visit the department in person.
According to the department, services including company registration and renewal, industrial record updates, relocation, capital and production capacity expansion, amendments to company names and objectives, foreign investment approval, business visa recommendations and submission of annual progress reports are now available online.
Applications and supporting documents for services covered by the digital system will no longer be accepted in physical form. Applicants are not required to appear at the department unless specifically requested, in which case only an authorised representative with valid identification may do so.
The department has urged entrepreneurs and businesses to make full use of the online platform as part of the government's push to modernise and improve public service delivery.
