KATHMANDU: The government is preparing to amend Consumer Rights Protection Act 2054 and Consumer Rights Protection Regulations 2056. The Department of Commerce has started discussions with stakeholders concerned on amending the act and regulations. Director general of the department Anil Kumar Thakur said the amended act will envision formation of a consumer court and punishment to the guilty. He said the department is coordinating with the ministries of agriculture and home.
