KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 1

Cooking gas has become dearer in Nepali kitchen as the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has again raised the price of the petroleum products on Saturday. The new price have become effective from Saturday midnight.

Under the revised pricing, the cost of a cooking gas cylinder has surged by Rs 215, bringing it to Rs 2,110 per cylinder.

This marks the second increase in the price of cooking gas within just one month, following a previous hike of Rs 186.45 on August 31.

This recent hikes in the cost of the most commonly used medium for cooking fuel has added to the woes of Nepali families as they prepare for the major Nepali festivals of Dashain and Tihar, making this year's celebrations more expensive.

Similarly, NOC has also increased the price of petrol by Rs 2 per liter, bringing it to Rs 182.50, while diesel and kerosene have seen a hike of Rs 6 per liter, now priced at Rs 176.50.

Additionally, the price of aviation fuel has been raised by Rs 8 per liter for both domestic and international use. Domestic aviation fuel is now priced at Rs 144 per liter, while the international price stands at USD 1.095 per liter.
