Cottage, SSI expo starts

KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepal Cottage and Small Industries (FNCSI) will hold the ‘Tenth cottage industries festival and National industrial expo’ for five days from December 10 at Bhrikutimandap here.

“In the cottage industry festival and national industrial expo, participants from 45 districts are going to set up their stalls to exibit their products in about 150 stalls,” said FNCSI general secretary Shyam Prashad Giri. He added that about 250,000 visitors are expected to come to the expo. Giri said that minister of industries Mahendra Prasad Yadav will inaugurate the expo.

“The main aim of the festival is to promote Nepali cottage industries in national and international markets and provide information to the people about products,” added Giri. Apart from it,

Giri said that during the festival various products like handicrafts, utensils, carpets, Allo, Lokta paper, jute products, pashmina, Dhaka and woodcraft along with fruit juices and food stuffs will be exibited. He added that the exibition would prove to productive for both the exibitors and the visitors and also develop strong relations between them.
