Counterfeiters still at large
BARA: Over a dozen racketeers involved in fake currency transaction have been absconding though the Bara Police arrested some persons last week.
Nepal Police and Armed Police Force held six persons including two women on the charge of being involved in counterfeit currencies’ transaction. Police had seized 114 fake notes of Rs 500 from them.
According to the Nijgadh Area Police Office, those arrested are Kamala BK, 45, Chandan Shah, 16, of Birgunj-18, Ram Chandra Shah, 50, of Birgunj-3, Bachhiya Khatun, 40, Mugle Hajam Miya, 35, of Simraungadh, Bara, and Laxman Shah, 50, of Amritgunj-3 Bara. Police are conducting a for those involved in the fake currencies’ transaction as per the clues provided by those arrested. Superintendent of Police Mahendra Pokhrel said police have been searching for the culprits and hoped that they would be brought to book soon.
