The country recorded remittance inflows worth Rs 477.96 billion over a period of four months.
According to a report on the current macroeconomic and financial situation of Nepal, based on data up to mid-November, remittance inflows increased by 26.4 percent, reaching Rs 477.96 billion.
This marked a 20.4 percent increase in remittance flows compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
In US Dollar terms, remittance inflows increased by 23.1 percent, compared to 10.8 percent in the corresponding period last year, reaching 3.60 billion during the review period. The central bank published the report today.
Similarly, during the review period, the number of Nepali workers-both institutional and individual-taking first-time approval for foreign employment stood at 137,475, and those taking approval for renewing entry stood at 68,841.
Last year, these numbers were 196,735 and 87,428, respectively. Net transfers increased by 24.9 percent to Rs. 521.40 billion in the review period, compared to a 20.2 percent increase in the same period of the last fiscal year
