Domestic gold price hits new record
KATHMANDU: Gold price again set a new record on Tuesday in the domestic market rising by Rs 200 per tola overnight to reach Rs 68,000 a tola.
Due to the price hike in gold in the international market, the price of bullion in the domestic market is setting new records each passing day. The yellow metal was traded at a record high price of Rs 67,800 per tola on Monday, which was beaten on Tuesday.
This month, gold price had set a new record of Rs 65,800 a tola on August 2 before rising to a fresh all-time high of Rs 66,300 per tola on Sunday.
The ongoing trade war between the United States and China along with increased tariffs by the US on Chinese goods have resulted in investors flocking to gold, which is considered a safe investment.
