Donations pour in PM Relief Fund
KATHMANDU: Various national and international organisations donated to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund as their support to Nepal earthquake victims, on Wednesday also.
Prime Minister Sushil Koirala received cheques from various organisations at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar today.
The Dangote Group, Nigeria's largest business conglomerate, donated Rs 100 million to the Fund today.
India's GMR Company also provided Rs 30 million to the Fund today.
The Company is developing Upper Karnali and Marsyangdi hydropower projects in Nepal.
Likewise, Nepal Investment Bank provided Rs 10 million to the Fund.
Two private schools in Kalanki of Kathmandu – Wisdom English Academy and Edmark Academy – donated Rs 100,000 each to the Fund.
According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, total Rs 5.17 has been collected in the Fund since the April 25 earthquake. Likewise, Rs 12.4 million has been released from the Fund, as of Tuesday.
