Ramechhap, August 26:

Farmers could not plant paddy in dozens of village development committees (VDCs) of southern belt of Ramechhap, and its neighbouring district Sindhuli and Okhaldhunga due to long spell of drought.

Even after the third week of August, the lands are uncultivated due to no water in stream and gorges. Farmers were compelled to cut the siblings, which they made ready for plantation, and feed them to cattle.

Hundred ropanies of agriculture land in Shukajor Deurali and Ratjorkhola including other areas of district have remained uncultivated due to the drought, said District Agriculture Development Office of Ramechhap.
