Easy access to resources urged

Chandi Raj Dhakal, acting president of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has underlined need of easy and prompt access to the national resource for all to ensure equal development in the country. He was speaking at a workshop on ‘public private partnership on promotion of local development’ organised jointly by the ministry of local development and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in association with Itahari Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Itahari. “The public-private partnership is meant for optimum utilisation of the national resources through mobilisation of available manpower for the benefits of the people,” he said adding that the UNDP supported public-private partnership programme has been effective in brining private and public sectors together for the development. UNDP has been providing technical and financial assistance to the programme, which is being implement in five municipal chambers in Nepal. The programme aims at building pool between public, private and government entities to improve service delivery mechanism. Dhakal also informed that four trade schools under public-private partnership has already been established at four different parts of the country. “Such a programme should be extended to other parts of the country, too,” he added.
