EICL posts growth on premium sales

Kathmandu, January 28:

Everest Insurance Company Ltd (EICL) sold insurance premiums worth Rs 222.97 million during the fiscal year of 2005-06, a growth of 7.65 per cent against the previous fiscal.

The company has already sold premiums worth Rs 92.5 million in the first six months of the current fiscal year, said Mohan Gopal Khetan, chairman of EICL, at the 12th annual general meeting of the company today.

Presenting the annual report, he also informed that EICL is soon adopting integrated computerised software in order to enhance quality of services being delivered by the company. The company’s share capital has also increased to Rs 90 million from Rs 60 million in 2005-05.

EICL plans to issue additional bonus shares to its shareholders to increase its share capital to Rs 100 as per the directive of the Insurance Board, said Khetan.
