Everest Bank awards winners

Everest Bank Ltd (EBL) distributed prizes to the winners — of ‘monthly deposit campaign’ announced on the occasion of opening of its 16th branch in Pokhara — in Pokhara branch office. “We are pleased to note the overwhelming response from our customers that we received in Pokhara and this response will further reinforce our commitment to extend our services in many other parts of the country,” said DVSSV Prasad, executive director at the EBL. Bhim Bahadur Thapa won the first prize — a refrigerator sponsored by Saleways department store, Pokhara. Similarly two depositors won DVD system as second prize and three depositors won radio and CD system as third prize. Likewise, 25 lucky depositors received gift vouchers to shop at the Saleways department store Pokhara. Established in 1994, Everest Bank Ltd started its operations from its first branch at Naya Baneshwar in Kathmandu and now provides services through 16 branches throughout Nepal. EBL is the joint venture company of Punjab National Bank (PNB), the largest public sector bank in India.

Based on the unaudited accounts of the first nine months of the current fiscal year, EBL has recorded a growth of 23 per cent that is about Rs 282.8 million, in operating profit in comparison to the corresponding period last year. The bank’s credit has also increased by 22 per cent amounting to Rs 7456.9 million during the same period. The total deposits stood at Rs 9325.4 million posting a growth of 20 per cent.
