The Finance Committee under the parliament has directed the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) to submit factual details within 15 days regarding the issues related to the sale of Ncell shares.

The Committee inquired about the matter during a discussion with the NTA on Wednesday. Following the discussion, Committee Chairperson Santosh Chalise mentioned that they had requested the NTA to provide written details with factual information about the sale and purchase of Ncell shares within two weeks.

During the meeting, NTA Chairperson Purushottam Khanal shared that they had received a letter from Ncell Axiata Limited, a private mobile service provider, stating that they would soon provide details of the sale and purchase of Ncell shares as they were in the process of collecting relevant documents.

"On December 1, the NTA wrote to Ncell, seeking details of the sale and purchase of its shares, and received a response from the company on December 5. The process of collecting related documents is underway, and it will be submitted to the respective body within the existing laws of Nepal," he added.

Similarly, a discussion was also held in the Public Accounts Committee today about the purchase and sale of Ncell stake."
