Finland to invest more in Nepal
Kathmandu, February 5:
The latest agreement between the governments of Finland and Nepal will boost Finnish investment in Nepal, said Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) president Kush Kumar Joshi here today.
Nepal can take various advantages from Finland, said Joshi during the visit of The Finnish team led by Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Dr Paavo Vayrynen and ambassador-deputy director general of the Department for External Economic Relations RokkaSalla at the FNCCI secretariat yesterday.
On Wednesday Minister Vayryven and his team had called on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ at the latter’s official residence in Baluwatar.
In that meeting, the Finnish minister had informed PM Dahal that his country was interested in providing support in Nepal’s water resources and technical education sectors.
PM Dahal had urged the Finnish minister to encourage his country’s to invest in Nepal.
The PM had also informed him that Nepal was set to establish the Investigation Board
in this regard along with management of the Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
The agreement between Nepal and Finland to promote Finnish investment in Nepal was signed on Tuesday.
Over the recent past, especially after the formation of a republic, Finland has been showing a special interest in the development of Nepal and is willing to help Nepal.
