Five-day NADA Auto Show 2009 opens

KATHMANDU: Nepal Automobile Dealers’ Association (NADA) in tandem with Global Exposition and Manangement Services Pvt Ltd (GEMS Pvt Ltd) has organised the ‘NADA Auto Show 2009’ at Bhrikutimandap exibition hall from today.

“The main objective of the show is to provide an appropriate forum to the automobile sector to market its products and services. This is the most useful and ideal platform to promote this industry in general,” NADA president Saurya Rana said adding that the hardcore business of auto components and wide range of servicing, machinary and accessories will attract manufacturers, dealers, distributors and potential visitors from different parts of the country. He said that the participants comprise manufacturers, dealers and distributors from Nepal, India,China, Korea, France, Japan, America, Taiwan and other countries.

According to the figures for the fiscal year 2008-09, the automobile industry has contributed 18-20 per cent of the GDP to the national coffers.

The industry is also benefitting around six lakh people all

over the country by providing direct and indirect employment. The five-day event is expected to draw about 50,000 business and quality visitors. “Different daily and bumper door prize programmes will be conducted,” said manger-business developer, Keshav Khatri, GEMS Pvt Ltd.

Door prizes are air tickets from Yeti Aitlines and Buddha Air. Bumper door prize is Bajaj XCD-135cc motorcycle from Hansraj Hulaschand and Company Pvt Ltd. The event will be on till September 1.
