Flower expo targeting Tihar from Oct 26

Floriculture Association of Nepal (FAN) has announced that it will organise the Godavari Flower Exhibition targeting the Tihar festival from October 26.
The 10th edition of the four-day event will be organised at the Jawalakhel ground, according to FAN.
Issuing a press statement, officials of FAN said that the event will promote godavari (chrysanthemum) which has a great significance during Tihar. Similarly, the exhibition will also promote different seasonal and cut flowers.
“The primary objective of organising the exhibition ahead of Tihar is to facilitate customers because the demand for flowers rises significantly during the period,” said Ramji Prasad Timalsina, vice-president of FAN, adding that the event will also prove crucial to promote domestic floriculture industry. The event is showcasing a range of cut flowers like gladiolus, rose, orchid, marigold, chrysanthemum, among others.
Organisers said that the exhibition will also benefit researchers and enthusiasts of domestic floriculture industry as the exhibition will have different informative stalls disseminating facts and figures of the industry.
According to FAN, commercial floriculture is done in 147 hectares of land across the country and has given direct/indirect employment to more than 40,000 people.
