FM holds work evaluation meet
Kathmandu, December 8:
The Ministry of Finance today conducted a performance evaluation meeting for effective implementation of the policies and programmes spelled out in the budget for the fiscal year 2008-09. Finance Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai chaired the meeting that witnessed the briefing from all division heads and department chiefs under the Finance Ministry.
Dr Bhattarai asked the department heads to increase the speed of work and dedicated themselves towards giving relief to the people. He also insisted on improvement in working techniques, processes and augmented public participation through positive flow of information to the people. Krishna Bahadur Manandhar, acting governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) briefed the meeting on the improvement and supervision of banking and types of action to be taken against bank loan defaulters.
The finance minister directed department heads to work for qualitative results of the budget programmes and prepare a lasting foundation for socio-economic development. He also emphasised on informing people about the government’s programmes and creating a foreign investment-friendly environment by maintaining an efficient working style.
