FNCCI plans to expand trade ties with Europe
Kathmandu, March 26:
Chandi Raj Dhakal, president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) left for Germany today to participate at a programme on ‘Prospects for Regional Economic Cooperation in South Asia and Europe’ to be organised from March 26 to March 31 in Berlin and Brussels. According to a press release issued by the FNCCI here today, Dhakal will discuss with the European trading partners and other SAARC level government officials regarding trade and investment promotion in Nepal.
“No government representative is participating at the conference. However, other governments in the SAARC region have sent their officials to participate at the conference,” state the press release.
“During the conference, participants will discuss transit issue, economic cooperation in the SAARC region’s — which groups Nepal, India, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan and the Maldives — tourism promotion, and enhancement of competitive stren-gth of local industries in the-ir respective countries.”
The organisations like Federation of German Industries, Association of German Banks, Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce, German Asia-Pacific Business Association and German Institute for International and Security Affairs are taking part in the conference.
