Fresh industrial policy on anvil, says Shakya
Birgunj, January 17:
Minister for Industries Asta Laxmi Shakya today said that the government was committed to solving the problems plaguing the industrial sector.
Speaking during a programme here in Parsa district, she said the government was planning to bring out a new industrial policy to solve the existing problems. “The new industrial policy will address the issues of industrial insecurity, friendly investment environment, labour problems and power outage,” she said.
Stating that poverty and economic crisis were to blame for the problems in the country, minister Shakya said everyone should unite for economic transformation of the nation.
Due to managerial pitfalls and lack of transparency, industries have lost their efficiency and become sick, she pointed out. She added that she was striving to get Birgunj Sugar Factory to resume operations as soon as possible.
In recent days, industries across the country are facing various problems like labour disputes, industrial insecurity, power outage and the extortion terror.
