Gas depots monitored

BHAKTAPUR: Police have started monitoring gas depots after Bhaktapur district still witnessed cooking gas shortage even after border blockade has already been lifted. Mobilising a special team, police have started collecting details of gas cylinders received at gas suppliers and depots for the past two months and distributed by them. According to Chief at the Metropolitan Police Range, Superintendent of Police, Kiran Bajracharya, the police started collecting details as per the direction of Metropolitan Police Commissioner’s Office on the basis of complaints received from consumers that they could not get gas cylinder even after its supply had been regular. Bajracharya said that they have directed all subordinate bodies to submit the details of gas suppliers and depots of their working areas and to control black marketing of cooking gas by carrying out regular monitoring.
