GDA against strike

KATHMANDU: Gas Dealers’ Association (GDA) in statement on Monday expressed serious concern over the halt of LPG supply. According to the association, the strike programme is totally baseless and it should be taken back at the earliest. The strike is against consumer rights and violates consumer laws. GDA has supported the move of Nepal Oil Corporation to involve the private sector for effective supply and distribution of LPG. According to GDA president Bidendra Pradhanang, there are 30 gas industries and around 40 more are in the pipleline. So, there is also negative competition growing in the market. GDA has been working for effective supply of LPG cylinders in the market since 2054.
