KATHMANU, DECEMBER 12

The price of gold surged by Rs 3,500 per tola in the domestic market on Friday, while silver continued its upward trend with a rise of Rs 100 per tola.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association, fine gold is being traded at Rs 256,600 per tola, up from Rs 253,100 on Thursday. With today's sharp increase, the yellow metal is inching close to its earlier all-time high of Rs 258,000 per tola, recorded on Asoj 31.

Meanwhile, silver prices continued to break daily records. The metal climbed to Rs 3,905 per tola on Friday, rising from Rs 3,805 per tola the previous day, the federation said.
