KATHMANDU, APRIL 15

The gold market saw a modest rebound, with prices increasing by Rs 700 per tola in the domestic market, on Monday.

This came after a significant plunge on Sunday, the second day of the Nepali New Year 2081

On Friday, the price of gold surged to an unprecedented high of Rs 139,000 per tola. However, this upward trend took a sharp downturn on Sunday, with the price plummeting by Rs 2,200 per tola to reach Rs 136,800.

Fortunately, Monday brought a much-needed rebound with fine gold being traded at Rs 137,500 per tola, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers Association.

Similarly, tejabi gold is currently being traded at Rs 136,850 per tola.

In a similar trend, silver, that has often seen reflecting the movements of gold in recent days, also saw a modest rise.

Prices increased by Rs 15 per tola, now trading at Rs 1,715 per tola.

This uptick comes after Sunday's drop to Rs 1,700 per tola, down Rs 50 per tola from Friday.
