Gold price settling on its rails

KATHMANDU: Gold this week closed at Rs 27,865 per 10 gram, Rs 170 more than the opening price that is 27,695 per 10 gram.

With the hike in customs duty on gold, the domestic market price is again being priced as per the international rate. On Friday, gold in the international market was priced at $1121 per ounce. Gold on Monday was traded for Rs 27,735 per 10 gram and it increased to Rs 27,780 on Tuesday.

Gold priced at Rs 27,865 on Wednesday and remained constant till Friday. Tej Ratna Shakya, president of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association (NEGOSIDA), said gold price in the international market had very little variation due to which trading price of gold here stayed constant.

Meanwhile, silver opened at Rs 424.50 per 10 gram on Sunday stayed so till Tuesday.

With an incease of Rs 4.5, silver was priced at Rs 429 per 10 gram on Wednesday and it stayed at the same price on Thursday and Friday to close at Rs 429 per 10 gram.
