Yellow metal climbs by Rs 4,700 in two days; silver also hits record high

KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 1

The price of gold in the domestic market continued its upward momentum on Monday, rising by Rs 1,700 per tola to reach Rs 205,300 per tola, setting yet another historic high.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association, the price of fine gold stood at Rs 203,600 per tola on Sunday, before climbing further today. In just two days-Sunday and Monday-the yellow metal has surged by Rs 4,700 per tola, following its breakthrough past the Rs 200,000 threshold last Friday when it was priced at Rs 200,600 per tola.

Silver has also mirrored gold's rally, setting a fresh record in the Nepali market. The white metal gained Rs 45 per tola on Monday, reaching Rs 2,470 per tola, up from Rs 2,425 per tola on Sunday. In total, silver prices have risen by Rs 110 per tola in the past two days.
