The price of yellow metal increased while that of silver decreased in the trading week between May 7 and May 12.
In the domestic market, gold price increased by Rs 200 per tola, while that of silver fell by Rs 70 a tola during the review week.
According to the rate list of Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association (FeNeGoSiDA), gold price was fixed at Rs 110,600 per tola when the market opened for trading on Sunday and it increased by Rs 300 a tola on Monday. Its price increased by Rs 300 per tola on Tuesday before rising further by Rs 400 a tola on Wednesday. On Thursday, gold price remained unchanged before decreasing by Rs 800 per tola on Friday to settle at Rs 110,800 a tola for the week.
Meanwhile, silver was traded at Rs 1,445 per tola on Sunday and its price remained unchanged till Wednesday. The price of the grey metal decreased by Rs 15 a tola on Thursday before slumping by Rs 55 per tola on Friday to rest at Rs 1,375 a tola for the week.
According to international news agencies, gold prices fell to a one-week low on Friday, and were on track for a weekly dip, weighed down by a stronger dollar and an uptick in US bond yields. The dollar rose to one-month peak and is heading for its biggest weekly gain since February, making bullion less attractive for buyers holding other currencies.
