Gold prices at record high
Kathmandu, October 8:
The prices of gold this week registered an all time high as it has been increasing continuously breaking its previous records. The price of precious yellow metal, which was traded at Rs 10,825 (per 10 gram) last week closed at Rs 10,890 yesterday. This is the highest ever recorded price in the domestic market. Market analysts say that the prices are most likely to go up. According to Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (NEGOSIDA), gold price in the domestic market is mainly affected due soaring bullion prices in the international markets. “The uncertainty of the US economy in the aftermath of hurricanes Katrina and Rita has already pushed the gold price in the international market to a 17-year high in the previous weeks,” says Tej Ratna Shakya, president of NEGOSIDA. “It will continue to play a lead role in determining the international prices in the coming days too,” he added.
