KATHMANDU, JANUARY 18

Gold prices in the domestic market continued their downward trend on Thursday, with the price of the precious metal plummeting by Rs 700 per tola.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association (FeNeGoSiDA), fine gold is currently fetching Rs 117,500 per tola, showcasing a notable decrease from the previous day's rate of Rs 118,200 per tola.

Similarly, standard gold, which was valued at Rs 117,650 per tola on Wednesday, has now experienced a drop in its trading price to Rs 116,950.

This continuous decline in gold prices coincides with the onset of the Magh month. The trend began with a recorded value of Rs 119,500 per tola on Magh 1, followed by Rs 119,400 on Magh 2, and Rs 118,200 on Magh 3.

Notably, the gold price had reached an all-time high of Rs 122,000 per tola on December 28.

In tandem with the decline in gold, silver also witnessed a decrease, dropping by Rs 10 per tola and currently being traded at Rs 1,390 per tola on Thursday.
