KATHMANDU, APRIL 23
Nepali goods worth Rs 79.54 billion were exported through the Birgunj customs point during the first nine months of the current fiscal year 2082/83 BS, according to the Birgunj Customs Office.
Exports through this customs point increased by Rs 10.19 billion compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year. The Office reported that goods worth Rs 69.35 billion had been exported during the corresponding nine-month period of fiscal year 2081/82 BS.
Udaya Singh Bista, Information Officer at the Birgunj Customs Office, stated that exports through the point have risen by 15 percent in the current fiscal year.
Major export items included soybean oil worth Rs 43.61 billion, fruit juices amounting to Rs 5.84 billion, palm oil at Rs 5.24 billion, sunflower oil valued at Rs 5.5 billion, and garments worth Rs 2.69 billion.
Similarly, synthetic yarn worth Rs 1.94 billion was exported through the customs point during the review period, Bista added.
