KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 5

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel stated that the government is committed to fostering an investment-friendly environment, even through necessary legal amendments. He emphasized the government's focus on revitalizing the national economy and making it dynamic.

Speaking at the inauguration of the ninth Lumbini National Festival in Bhairahawa today, Finance Minister Paudel encouraged businesspersons to remain optimistic, noting that the country's economic situation is gradually improving. "The government is prepared to work in ways that uplift the morale of the private sector," he said.

He assured that the challenges facing the national economy would be addressed progressively, adding, "There is a growing trust in the government's recent activities."

Highlighting the significance of the Gautam Buddha International Airport, the Finance Minister expressed confidence in its smooth operation as a project of national pride. Preparations for constructing an additional terminal building are already underway, he informed.

The Lumbini National Festival, organized by the Siddhartha Industry and Commerce Association, Rupandehi, aims to promote local products, invigorate the economy, and enhance tourism in the province. Running until December 16, the festival is expected to generate transactions worth Rs. 100 million.
