KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 18
The government has appointed Chandika Bhatta as the executive director of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC).
According to Minister for Communications and Information, Rekha Sharma, the Cabinet meeting on Sunday made this decision.
The government also decided to extend the term of a probe committee on disputes relating to electricity tariffs for dedicated feeder and trunk line subscribers.
Similarly, a task force has been formed under the coordination of the secretary at the Home Ministry to submit a revised draft of the work procedure brought in 2074 to determine the status of disability among people injured during armed conflict. The committee has been asked to submit a report within two months.
The Cabinet endorsed the National Transmission (12th amendment) Regulation, 2080, and decided to allow the presentation of a bill designed to amend the Bank and Financial Institutions Act, 2073, in the federal parliament.
Minister Sharma, who is also the government spokesperson, informed that Bhupendra Bhandari was appointed Chairman of the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA), while Dr. Pramod Joshi became a member of the Nepal Health Research Council.
The Cabinet meeting approved the Probation and Parole Policy, 2080, and decided to send the report of the probe committee on the dispute over NCell share sale to the related agency for implementation.
