Gulf Air wins SkyTrax award

Manama, March 26:

The Skytrax World Airline Awards 2007, results of which were announced a few days ago, have conferred Gulf Air first place for ‘onboard catering excellence in First Class and Business Class’ for 2006.

The Skytrax awards are regarded as the most authentic and prestigious recognition of quality for product and customer service in the aviation world, as the awards are voted by travelling public, claims a press release issued by the company.

“We are delighted to be voted, for the fourth time in a row, for our on board catering excellence,” says Gulf Air vice-president, marketing and sales, Lee Shave.

The Sky Trax awards are the result of the most comprehensive analysis of product and service standards provided by airlines across the globe and have become a bench mark for the aviation industry, states the release.

“Winning the support of our discerning travellers consistently for four years is a wonderful achievement,” says Gulf Air head of inflight services and cabin crew, Michael Kent.

Meanwhile, Gulf Air has also won the Business Traveller magazine’s ‘Cellars in the Sky 2006’ awards for two of its wines served onboard its First and Business Class, adds the press release.
