Kathmandu, March 20

Himalaya Airlines has announced that its aircraft MSN 6626, Airbus 320-214, Nepal registration 9N-ALM, carrying Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and the delegation on an official visit to China, landed at the Beijing Capital International Airport, Beijing, today.

The aircraft took off from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, the company said in a press statement today.

The flight was operated under the approval of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal and concerned countries’ regulatory authorities for landings, take-offs, parking/housing and overflying. The aircraft will be used for all legs of the journey of official delegation.

Himalaya Airlines had earlier requested the government of Nepal for conducting the flights for the official visit of the prime minister to China. All costs of the flights will be borne by the company.

Himalaya Airlines, a full-service Nepal-China joint venture, established in August 2014, has planned to start international flight operations from April this year.

The airline has made all preparations in terms of training flight crew and maintenance personnel and has in place systems, people and infrastructure to start commercial flights, the statement added. It has scheduled its first destinations to Delhi in India and Doha in Qatar, followed by Lhasa, Chengdu and Beijing in China a few months later.
