KATHMANDU: Himalaya Television, which has been broadcasting news and entertainment programmes for the last seven years, has transformed into high-definition premium content provider.

The television company was recently bought by onlinekhabar.com, a leading news portal. Himalaya Television will give priority to fresh subject matters of public interest, says a statement issued by the company.

It will broadcast news 14 times a day and ‘fatafat news’, or news in brief, six times a day. It won’t broadcast advertisements for more than three minutes during news bulletins, says the statement.

It will also host four reality shows: The Voice of Nepal, Dancing with the Stars Nepal, Nepal’s Next Top Model and Himalaya Roadies. “These programmes will help us become No 1 in television entertainment market,” says the statement.
