Bolstered by rapid urbanisation, real estate business is gaining mome-ntum in Nepal. The demand for housing properties that also offer basic infrastructure is ever increasing. Talking to The Himalayan Times, Raju Kumar Siwakoti, managing director of Jawalakhel Real Estates and Housing Company Ltd called the performance of real estate business ‘commendable’ in Nepal. The emerging housing industry is offering a transparent and hassle-free accommodation to a large number of customers who can not build homes for themselves.

“These planned residential areas have breathing space where discrete houses could be built. People can buy from small plots of about 1,350 sq feet which gives them a lot of flexibility to choose,” he said. Foreign employees, retired army officers and professionals are major customers of this business.
