The Investment Board Nepal (IBN) has granted the survey licence of 450MW Seti River-6 (SR-6) Hydroelectric Project to NHPC Ltd, a government of India enterprise.

IBN has granted survey licence of SR-6 to NHPC today as prescribed by the agreement signed with the latter on August 18, 2022 based on the decision of the government.

The memorandum of understanding had been signed by IBN Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sushil Bhatta and Chairman and Managing Director of NHPC AK Singh in the presence of former prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, among other ministers, entrusting it with the task of developing this project which will be built in Achham and Doti.

The construction cost of the Seti River-6 hydroelectric project is estimated at $800 million.
