JCB’s CSR initiative

KATHMANDU: JCB India Ltd has handed over seven heavy equipment and generators including backhoe, loadall and robots to the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development here on Wednesday.  Managing Director of JCB India Vipin Sondhi handed over keys of the machines to Deputy Prime Minister cum Local Development Minister Kamal Thapa in the presence of Secretary of Local Ministry Mahendra Man Gurung and Managing Director of MAW Enterprises Bishnu Agarwal, as per a statement. The equipment handover comes under the commitment made by JCB. JCB India Ltd is the largest seller of construction equipment in Nepal, India and Europe. “The machines provided will be used in reconstruction,” Minister Thapa has been quoted as saying. JCB handed over a backhoe, two JCB robots, a loadall, three gensets. These equipment are worth Rs 16.32 million. According to the local development ministry, the equipment will be distributed to Sindupalchowk DDC, Dolakha DDC, Kathmandu Municipality, Bhaktapur Municipality, Lalitpur Municipality and Hetauda municipality.
