Joshi felicitated
KATHMANDU: Sashin Joshi was felicitated by Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Chiranjibi Nepal for his contribution and leadership role for the establishment and development of National Banking Institute (NBI) in an event organised by NBI recently, as per a press statement issued on Friday.
NBI is the apex Nepali banking institute established under the aegis of Nepal Bankers’ Association and NRB with support from Asian Development Bank. Joshi is immediate past chairman of NBI and currently CEO of Nabil Bank.
NBI has been working towards capacity development of human capital in the banking industry and has carried out more than 800 programmes to provide training to more than 18,000 banking professionals in the country.
Amidst the function in the presence of board of directors of NBI, chief executive officers of commercial banks and executive committee members of Development Bankers’ Association, Governor Nepal expressed his satisfaction with the performance of the institute and appreciated the bigger role NBI is playing in the sector.
Nepal stressed to banks’ CEOs to take training and development investment seriously and support NBI’s initiative as it is the responsibility of the banking industry to create competent human capital for the achievement of financial stability, the statement adds.
