KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 6
Laminar Tiles, Nepal's pioneering fully vitrified tile manufacturer, on Thursday launched its latest collection, Monolith Digital FullBody, at the Nepal Buildcon International Expo 2026 in Kathmandu, marking a first of its kind in the domestic market.
According to the company, inspired by natural elements such as limestone, sand, ash, slate and obsidian, the Monolith collection combines minimalist aesthetics with high-performance durability. The Digital FullBody technology addresses key limitations of conventional glazed and full-body tiles by offering diverse digital designs while ensuring uniform body composition, allowing surfaces to age without visible wear.
Building on Cento, Nepal's first domestically produced full-body tile collection, Monolith features Matt Carving, Granular Matt and Grit Textura finishes, with PEI Class V wear resistance, Mohs 6+ scratch resistance and R9 slip rating. Designed for heavy-traffic and wet areas, the tiles are suitable for commercial spaces such as airports, hotels and hospitals, as well as residential applications.
Launched at a ceremony at Bhrikutimandap, the collection was highlighted as a milestone in Nepal's capacity to manufacture internationally certified ceramics, reducing reliance on imports.
The launch follows Laminar's NS 617:2082 certification in January 2026, classifying its products as Fully Vitrified under the highest national performance category.
Laminar currently offers over 400 designs through its Experience Centre in Uttardhoka and a nationwide network of more than 160 authorised dealers.
