LAHAN: Mango yield in Siraha is set to go down by 10 to 15 per cent this year, according to the district agriculture development office. The office said the production will be affected as wind and hailstorm damaged the crop during flowering season. Farmers will suffer a loss worth Rs 10 million due to the decline in production. This year, it forecast a yield of 47,650 tonnes from 5,170 hectares of land. Last year, production was 45,150 tonnes from 5100 hectares. At least 20,000 people are engaged in mango farming in the district.
