KATHMANDU, MARCH 19
The MetLife Foundation has partnered with Plan International Nepal to launch the second phase of a youth employment initiative in Dhanusha.
The Youth Economic Empowerment Project (YEEP–II) will be implemented in Sabaila and Sahidnagar municipalities, targeting marginalized youth, particularly young women.
Supported by US$80,000, the project will provide financial and digital literacy training, vocational skills development, and safe migration support.
Over one year, the initiative aims to directly benefit more than 200 young people, including training for 120 participants and vocational or migration support for 70 others.
The programme also involves parents, employers and local authorities to address gender barriers and promote sustainable livelihood opportunities.
Organisers said the project is designed to enhance economic resilience and expand employment opportunities in one of Nepal's underserved districts.
