Mid-western festival to boost local products
Kathmandu, December 30:
Kush Kumar Joshi, President of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) urged to create peaceful and effective management for the development industries.
Speaking during the announcement ceremony of Mid-western Festival-2065 that is being organised from January 26 to February 6, Joshi said that the FNCCI is preparing — in writting
— to inform the government about the various disturbances like prolonged hours of load shedding in the industrial areas.
“Though there are various disturbances in smoothly running of industry in the current situation, FNCCI has always been moving ahead with a positive moral,” he said adding that it supports economic activities to boost the industrial sector.
“Though FNCCI lacks a well-facilitated exhibition area, it has been organising various fairs,” Krishna Prasad Tamrakar, vice-president at the FNCCI said adding that FNCCI is planning to construct a well-equipped exhibition hall.
In recent years FNCCI is more actively involved in supporting district chambers in organising fairs that are believed to promote local products as well as tourism.
“Regular events and festivals being organised at different regions of the country are quite helpful in boosting economic growth of that particular region and the state as a whole,” he added.
Tulsipur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI), Ministry for Commerce and Supplies, Trade and Export Promotion Centre, Ministry for Environment, Science and Technology, and FNCCI are jointly organising the Mid-western Festival-2065 at Tulsipur, Dang.
The ten-day long festival will have 200 stalls and the organisers are hopeful for the business of Rs 50 million during the festival,said FNCCI. “Three lakh people are expected to visit the festival.”
