KATHMANDU: Minister for Agricultural Development Haribol Gajurel said agriculture should be commercialised to develop the nation.

Speaking at a function organised by the Project for Agriculture Commercialisation and Trade (PACT) under the Ministry on Wednesday, the Minister said the Project was a model for commercialisation of agriculture in the nation.

Meanwhile, he suggested the Project to categorise its sub-projects as per their success rate and learn lessons from them.

Gajurel said he would keep a close eye on the Project.

Speaking at the function, Agricultural Development Secretary Uttam Kumar Bhattarai said the Project has been helping in maintaining sanitary and phytosanitary measures in agricultural productions and food items.

Project Director Indrakanta Jha had updated the Minister about activities of the Project.
