MoAD forms study panels
KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Agricultural Development (MoAD) has formed six different committees —the central committee under the coordination of MOAD Secretary Suroj Pokhrel and one each committee in five development regions under the coordination of MoAD regional directors — to determine the loss in agricultural output and overall agriculture sector due to the floods and landslides in different Tarai districts.
According to MoAD Spokesperson Yogendra Karki, the panels will submit their reports within a week.
As per Karki, floods across the Tarai districts have largely hampered paddy plantation, vegetable harvesting and fishery farming.
Meanwhile, MoAD has directed all its local and regional offices to lend necessary support to flood-hit citizens in Tarai.
